Coming up near--but not quite--to your profit goals for a signal frame can put you into gray place. Why quit when things are going well? --you say. Well, because sometimes you run into a deer crossing the highway and it blindsides you right off the road.... ha!.. Today was as good a day in trading the NQ as I ever have, and although volatile, its signals remained true throughout the frame. But the Russell....sheesh... seldom--and not really since the days when I used to trade the 2;15pmET FOMC rate adjustments have I seen such hugh, spiking intraday swings...far beyond my meager stops or even my Martindale betting strategies to accommodate. True, if you could have figured out such swings, profits would be hugely rewarding.... but today, the RTY was far beyond my skill set to find the turns... No doubt, there is something technical to be learned from today's RTY action, outside the mental side of the game, I mean, but what that elusive secret might be, will have to wait for another day, and perhaps quite a few more such days of such behavior in repetition. ...and a good weekend to all...
