A modest profit goal of +$500 for 1st Frame session trading belies two things in extreme volatility. First, it hardly measures the potential such volatility can deliver if position signals can be entered successfully, and secondly, it may encapsulate a far too small stop-loss allotment to survive entry volatility whips these same days tend to demonstrate.
My 1st Frame entries were so overwhelmed by normal exhaustion and grid level readings that I was down some $800 before I could push myself away from the screen. But that made the 2nd Frame of the day, normally a kind of doldrums of volatility about the right temperature to use normal 1st Frame techniques. And a beautiful set of Serial Sequent fractal algorithms, known as the 3rd Substitute Sequent, appeared perfectly in confluence with the Last Hour Transition Time Marker, which put the icing on the cake of an excellent entry opportunity.
That created an equity swing for the day from -$800 to +$450. This is not the strategy that should be employed to arrive at a day's profit goal. I violated my maximum loss of -500 even to return to trading. But in this environment, shifting to the lower volatility Midday and Last Hour frames might be necessary for survival, and I probably should have simply sat out the 1st Frame today altogether....
